I wanted to hate this shampoo, I just couldn't.

I wanted to hate this shampoo because of its high price-point, but I couldn't. The truth is, I love it and think it's totally worth it. I have good hair to begin with (long, undyed, rich brown, dries shiny with a bit of a natural wave without blowdrying) but it can get oily at the roots within a day of showering, especially in the summer. I bought this shampoo thinking it wouldn't live up to the hype and I'd end up returning it, but alas, it worked so well I fear I will have to keep it. It didn't strip the moisture from my lengths and when I use it once a week my hair no longer gets oily at the scalp when I skip a hair-washing. A great success. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it works so well, given how much I love Shu Uemura's other products, including their hair masks and universal moisturizing balm. 10/10, would definitely recommend!

New favorite shampoo

I have tried so, so, so many shampoos, from cheap brands to luxury shampoos. Before, I liked the balancing shampoo from Keras****; it seemed like a good shampoo. But this Shu Uemura clarifying shampoo is in a league of its own. It does not dry out my hair or ends. With a little dry shampoo, I can easily go 3+ days without having to wash my hair (normally, even with dry shampoo, I'd get 2 days out of my hair if I was lucky). I can even shower at night without having to worry about my roots getting super oily and nasty (previously, if I showered at night, I'd wake up with hair coated in oil, as if I hadn't showered in a few days). It's pricey, but it's completely worth it.

Smells so fresh and clean without being overpowering. Added onto my shampoo routine 1x every other week. It makes my scalp feel SO clean and all my usual products (Redken) work and feel their absolute best again. I use a filtered shower head for hard water as well, but this still helps with any left over build up. My hair is porous/wavy, prone to be dry. This did not strip it at all or make it feel crunchy, if anything it made my conditioner and leave-in products work 10x better.

If your hair gets oily in 1-2 days I highly recommend this. I’ve went through 6 bottles already and no other shampoo could compare. I’ve seen a lot of people complain that it doesn’t fix oily hair I would recommend to double wash and also put it only on your scalp.

Doesn’t help with my greasy hair at all

I wanted this to work so badly. I have extremely greasy hair and have tried many shampoos. My hair is greasy immediately after using this shampoo, even when accompanied by dry shampoo. I wouldn’t waste your $.

I have very oily hair and It cleans your hair very thoroughly. I can go 3 or more days between washing without it looking greasy. It smells amazing, like I just came from a nice salon. And the packaging is clean and simple, which lends itself to the feeling I like to have when I’m in my bathroom - at the spa. I highly recommend this product. Its a bit expensive for what I see in the website but I think its totally worthy
