I dream of this mask and wish I wasn't a povo
I once got a sample of this mask in my Sephora order 5+ years ago
It made my fine hair super smooth, almost like a keratin treatment. Friends and Co workers asked me if I got my hair done, what did I do differently, etc. and it was this mask. I even took a photo of my hair to commemorate the day.
However I can't justify spending $90 on a hair mask without severe buyers remorse. If you have more disposable income than I do then I would suggest you take the splurge to live your best hair day like I did all those years ago.

This mask smells great and is a decent conditioner but there are easily better much better masks and there are equivalent masks at much cheaper prices. Oribe’s goldlust mask is much better at similar price point. Amika’s soul food mask is much better at lower price point.

I have nothing bad to say about this hair mask. It’s definitely not the richest in texture, but it’s still very nourishing and moisturizing. The smell is amazing but not too heavy (I love the smell of every Shu Uemura product!). It leaves my hair soft and silky as well. However, I don’t notice a big difference between this mask ($69) and a $30/$40 mask which is already quite expensive. In other words, this mask is great, maybe better than other $30 masks, but still not THAT much better to justify spending $70 on it… but worth trying if you wanna splurge!

Pricey but happy with the results
I have thick wavy/curly hair which isn’t chemically treated, but can get dry and a bit coarse. I was looking for a product that’ll make my hair feel softer and silkier, so after reading some great reviews on Shu Uemura, I was curious to try out this hair mask. I leave this on once a week for 25-30 minutes in the shower, then towel dry and blow dry my hair. This did make my hair shinier, softer and more manageable without weighing it down. The results were similar to the mask I was using previously (Briogeo’s Don’t Despair, Repair) but I like this a bit more since the consistency is thicker and my hair did feel silkier. I’m not sure yet if I’ll repurchase once it runs out but I’m leaning yes since it was effective and the tub will last a while. Worth trying if you’re willing to spend a bit more to treat your hair, but there may be other masks that give similar results at a lower price point.
