I had hopes that this product would be the strong, firm hold that I need for my daily style. It disappointed me as I tried it and my style still stayed too soft and pliable. Since I have fine soft hair I need a sticky firm hold and this was not it. I had better luck with styling paste for a firm hold.

NOT FOR ME
While it does a decent job of holding my hair in place, it sticks my hair together, making it very difficult to wash off. I’ve noticed it makes my hair fall out from the tugging in the shower. Which is weird bc it doesn’t make my hair feel rock hard. I also didn’t like how it made my entire head greasy. I didn’t mind the scent, but for anybody out there sensitive to scents, maybe skip it.

Great for Air Drying
I absolutely love this stuff. I used to blowdry and straighten by platinum blonde hair everyday, but the damage was becoming too much. I decided to expiriment with air drying but no matter what I did I would have so much frizz. This fixed it for me! This is an essential for me now because it allows me to set my hair so it dries straight with no frizz. Highly recommended!

Feels like a sticky thick pomade in the container and on your hands, but as soon as you touch your hair it feels like water. I have thick hair with blonde highlights. I use this to slick my hair into a ponytail for work. It does a great job slicking it back, and doesn’t leave it sticky, crunchy, or dry. It’s also great for my flyaways. Its flexible enough to restyle my hair if needed. By the end of the day it’s a little loose but if needed I just apply more of the gel and it’s not a problem. When I brush my hair out there are no white flakes. CON- In order to slick my hair back, I need to use quite a bit of the gel, therefore I’m afraid that I’m going to run out of it quickly, and it’s not cheap :/ I took away a star because of how quickly I’m going through the jar.

perfect for pixie
When I went short, I was using sumotech for years. I was experiencing some breakouts on my scalp, so I switched to sumoclay... not what I was looking for.
But sumogel! That's the stuff! I apply to dry hair and make sure to wash it out at the end of the day. The length of wear is where the flaking can come in, but overall as long as I'm sure to distribute evenly, it works.
This is still a flexible hold, perfect for my pixie cut. The shine is what I never knew I was looking for!

This is my husbands favourite gel. It has a great hold without being hard or crunchy. It also doesn’t make the hair greasy feeling. I have also used this in my curly hair and it worked very nicely at defining my curls and cutting down the frizz. The scent is nice as well!

Hold is great but it flakes
This gel gets rid of all the frizz and fly aways, and nothing else has worked like this for me, so wow. But. Ahhh. This would be perfect except for the flaking. I'm so confused as to why no one else has had this problem. I'm applying it as it says to apply, so I'm so confused! I'm going to keep trying because the hold is just amazing, but if it continues I don't know if I want to keep using it. If anyone has any advice as to how I should wear it please let me know because it works so well otherwise.
