it works!

hair type: fine, highlighted when my hair is all natural, this kind of mask is too heavy. BUT post highlights, it works great. I use a tiny bit of it and leave it on for 1-2 minutes, and it rehydrates and makes my hair super soft. an alternative way to use this mask is as a pre-shampoo treatment. that way you get the benefits without the weight. if you like moroccanoil stuff, especially their sent, give this is a shot. just be mindful of how much hydration your hair needs, and adjust your method accordingly.

Only okay!

This was hydrating. But it is only okay. The amika soulfood mask is more nourishing for sure, this moroccanoil mask felt more like a coating than truly nourishing the hair. It was worth a try, it wasn’t 0% effective, but I’ll be going back to my regular hair mask.

My Biggest Haircare Regret 😤

Moroccanoil is by far my biggest purchase regret. This might sound dramatic, but I genuinely feel frustrated every time I think about these products—and I’m not usually an angry person. My main issue is performance. I have dry hair, and despite both the leave-in and the mask being marketed as hydrating, they actually made my hair feel even drier over time. That was really disappointing, especially considering the price point. Another major downside is the scent. Yes, it smells nice—but in practice, it’s completely overwhelming. I actually love fragrance and even treat perfume as part of my self-care routine (I’ll wear it just for myself, even to bed). So I’m definitely not against scented hair products. But this one is just too much—it’s too strong, too long-lasting, and it ends up overpowering everything else. It honestly feels like I dipped my hair straight into a bottle of perfume. Overall, this just didn’t work for me at all, and I regret the purchase.

Too heavy for my hair type
