Westman Atelier

What it is: An ultra-concentrated vitamin C gel-oil serum that visibly boosts brightness and fades dark spots in as few as two weeks.

Skin Type: Normal, Dry, and Combination

Skincare Concerns: Dark Spots, Fine Lines and Wrinkles, and Dullness

Formulation: Lightweight Serum

Highlighted Ingredients:
- Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate: Visibly brightens and fades dark spots and hyperpigmentation while firming and smoothing the look of lines.

Ingredient Callouts: This product is vegan, gluten-free, and cruelty-free.

What Else You Need to Know: This single-ingredient serum features 100 percent THD ascorbate, a potent yet gentle vitamin C derivative. - 100% agreed skin tone appeared more even/uniform
- 93% saw a visible reduction in appearance of dark spots and/or hyperpigmentation
- 93% agreed skin looked significantly brighter

Amazing for sensitive skin and noticeable results
I'm compelled to write my first Sephora review ever to counteract some of the negative ones from people that have not even used the product. I bought this two and a half months ago during a promo and have used it daily since. I have reactive skin and have trouble with most skincare and makeup, but I was able to add this serum to my routine with no issues whatsoever. I use it at night because, as others have mentioned, the texture is tricky. It is hard to spread and it becomes almost an oil on your skin. However, I LOVE this at night because after I put my moisturizer on top, it's the perfect base for gua sha and it keeps my skin moisturized overnight. The morning after my first application I was struck by the brightening effect it had on my skin, and it has absolutely improved the evenness of my skin tone over time. If I could get away with a less expensive serum I could wear seamlessly during the daytime, I would - no question. But for someone who cannot typically tolerate vitamin c serums yet wants the skincare benefits of vitamin c, this is an amazing product and I am on here today to repurchase.

Annoying to use
I got this serum as part of a gift set from the Westman Atelier website during Black Friday, so I have been using it daily (one pump per day) from late November 2025 until 3/9/2026. I do think that it helped with skin brightening, and the packaging is great. Big plus that it is refillable (and that refills are available), and I was happy that my bottle lasted so long using 1 pump per day. However, I ultimately found this to be annoying to use, which is one reason why I’m stopping. The consistency is VERY thick - it’s hard to spread over the skin (I applied after the Skin Activator per the instructions), so sometimes I felt I wasn’t getting an even application. And while the Skin Activator dried down quickly, this vitamin C serum did not. It stayed damp on my skin for a long time, and it felt like I had to wait extra long for it to dry down/sink in before applying sunscreen. The other reason I’m stopping is the price - it’s obviously very expensive, and I’m not sure the results for me were better than what I previously saw when using Skinceuticals CE Ferulic (which is also expensive, but less than WA and dries down quicker).

I have been using this for about a week. Price aside, I do think this is a high quality product. The consistency can be tricky. My advice is to apply after a hydrating toner and skin activator. Press into skin and allow to absorb completely before moisturizer. It has brightened my skin and leaves a nice dewey complexion. Since it is a little complicated to use, i don't see myself repurchasing.

Is this price for real? 🙄
The price point alone is where the problem begins. I seriously have a hard time spending this kind of cash for one single product. Vitamin C serums and products have been around for a long time. I have a hard time believing you have re-invented the wheel with this.

Highly underrated
Yes, it's very expensive but this is the only Vitamin C that has ever done for me what Vitamin C is supposed to do, brightening and dark spot correction. And I have tried most of the well known ones including skinceuticals and skinbetter. I noticed a difference about 2-3 weeks after I first started using it.

Let’s just get real…cmon WA!
The other 1 star reviews say it all - not even the most clinically effective or tested version of vita C, and for this price??? Cmon….Also, it’s just too greasy to use. Shocked that a makeup artist would make a product that is meant to be good under makeup when it’ll make makeup slide off due to grease!!

For $439.00 CAD I could buy my whole cart. There are ALOT of vitamin C products out there that work way better for way cheaper.

joke
Just buy Skinceuticals if you're going to put out $300 for this. This is a joke Westman. You don't even get 1 full fluid ounce of this product. L-Ascorbic is king in the Vit C world - yes we can talk stabilization issues - but I've never had a problem with my SC oxidizing unless I do not properly store it. This product, it's a joke. This is a joke ppl 🥱 Signed -a licensed esthetician with 20+ years experience
