Good product, scent is offensively strong

Great performance, as advertised. I used it twice, my hair was shiny and had natural movement, I have not had that in a decade or so. I had to return though, the scent was so strong, I could never sleep with it or use it really it the day.

Overnight repair & care

Bought this hair oil on a whim during a sale. I had been on the hunt for a lightweight yet moisturizing serum or hair oil for a while. For reference, I have long, thick, frizzy, wavy and color-treated hair so generally it takes a lot for a product to weigh my hair down or make it greasy. For this particular oil, I use 1-2 pumps and disperse evenly from mid-length to ends. So far, my hair hasn’t gotten greasy (even after consecutive uses a few nights) though it’s too soon to say if there’s any major difference. The scent is really nice, warm and musky/vanilla-esque, and I can smell it for a bit even after application. The consistency is not too thick, not too runny and applies nicely. Overall I think this would work well for all hair types including finer hair types, just by adjusting how many pumps/times per week it is applied.

Highly moisturizing and it gives a lot of shine. A little goes a long way (1-2 pumps for my long, wavy and thick hair). I focus on my ends mainly and my hair looks and feels soft and shiny. I have the whole product collection from Messy and they all share the same scent but I find this product is softer and nicer. The bottle is very luxurious too

Learning curve but works great

There is a learning curve, but it works great once you understand the concept. Short story: Use a little at night when you sleep, and by morning, your hair will be soft and frizz-free. Use too much and you’ll wake up to a greasy mess. Long story, I have 18” tape-in blond extensions, so I consider it pretty thick. When I first used it, I applied it as I would a regular hair oil, but I woke up to a greasy mess. I then watched a video on Sephora’s site and finally understood the concept. It’s not supposed to eliminate all the frizz and make your hair smooth immediately; if it does, you’ve used too much. For me, 1-2 pumps is all I need. I haven’t tried it without my extensions, but having thin hair, I suppose I’d only need 1/2-1 pump.

Nice but not for my hair much

The smell is divine! Like a soft nutty sandalwood but very very subtle. I have mid back length fine hair with waves. I applied this to my ends, and while it’s nice, there wasn’t a difference; however, this might be brilliant for someone whose hair tends to frizz or really drinks in moisture. The amount should last a good while because a little goes a very long way.
