not what I expected
Tbh this scent has good lasting power. that being said, I'm disappointed by the reviews. the reviews had me believe the main note I would smell is vanilla. this scent is interesting thought because I barely smell vanilla. I smell the sandalwood and at times it smells like burnt sandalwood and I can't stand the smell. sometimes I don't mind it and it smells fresh and clean. tonight it smelled like a cigarette. I know it may not agree with my chemistry but I just don't like it. I wish I had kept the box so I could return it.

Reformulation a Huge Disappointment
I have been wearing Commodity Gold daily for about 5 years and it was very sad when it was discontinued, then elated when they brought it back. Unfortunately, I have now tried Commodity Gold personal and Commodity Gold original, and neither of them smell anything like Commodity Gold before the reformulation. I loved the original perfume for its very light, sweet scent, but the new Commodity Gold personal has a strong woody scent that completely changes the scent of the perfume. The new Commodity Gold original has a strong musky scent I find very unpleasant. I will now need to hunt for a new daily perfume.

love this. it's totally unexpected.
this one is unexpected. from how sephora desribes it...makes it sound like its going to be a basic vanilla scent. it is so much more. it smells (at least on me) kind of like really good, slightly sweet, slightly fresh laundry. or at least how you hope your laundry is going to smell when you buy those fabric softeners..you know..the vanilla ones. this is how they should smell but don't.
