Not user friendly
The only thing positive I can say is it is pretty. I believe I may have received a defective iron as I could only unplug to cut it off. It lit up when I first plugged it in but tried to power off and was unable to do so. I held down on power button but I could not get it to operate correctly. It did heat up and I made some curls which did not stay. I returned it back to the company as I did not think it should be that hard to use for the price. This company is hard to contact for problems. I have read many reviews and many others experience the same problem.

Not a good buy
- I didn't realize this Curl ID Smart iron isn't compatible with the interchangeable barrels of the rest of the T3 curling irons. - There's a learning curve because my palm kept activating the sensor and changing the settings while mid-curling. I thought I had it locked properly but it just kept getting triggered during use, so I wasted a lot of time re-adjusting back to the setting. - I paid full price for this and the fancy functions doesn't justify the price point. Heat up time and ease of use is comparable to irons below 115$ CAD price point. -Also on the 3rd use, while tilting and tipping the iron I kept hearing a loose piece inside the barrel rolling up and down, like something was broken.

Not what I expected for the price I paid :-(
When I saw reviews I was excited to purchase this curling iron. I was fascinated by the digital Touch ID, how light the iron felt, and the initial curls I got. BUT, after I curled my hair, the curls started falling after an hour and I noticed that my hair was nappy at the ends. I used hair spray to keep the curls but the curls still did not stay. I thought maybe it’s the settings so I adjusted it, and the curls still did not stay the second and third time I curled my hair with this curling iron. Also, my hair gets caught around the rose gold molding where the clamp is. I’m a little disappointed because this is a VERY HIGH priced curling iron and I thought it would curl 10 times better than my $50 curling wand. With my wand I did the same thing I do with this T3 curl ID and my curls last all day. I wanted to buy another curling iron with a clamp and thought this would be way better. I expected way more than I got and now I regret it coz I want to love it but I can’t, especially for the price I paid. I give it 3 stars because i like the digital ID part I don’t have to play with the settings it’s already adjusted for my hair type when I turn it on. I also like how light it feels. I’ll keep playing with the curling part. I just wish it would curl better and the price would not be so high.

Not for me
I wanted to love this curling iron. For the price, I wanted it to curl my hair for me. It has to much grit on the wand itself so you can’t slide it in the clamp. I returned after one use. For the price, if I wasn’t convinced the first go around, I wasn’t going to “learn” to love it. My beach waver was actually much better.

beautiful curls for days and my hair looks healthy
Have been using T3 for years, brushes, hair clips, towel and flat iron. I did not own a curling iron, always get me with the price, which my flat iron I got it so cheap years ago because I save my reward money and I only end up paying about $60, with the competitor store. Anyway, I love my NuMe wand which I still use, but I wanted to change and get what I always wanted a T3. I save $$ so I don’t complain as much for the price when I purchase it. I’m so happy I did this one is way better that the flat iron. Leaves my hair so shiny, smooth and frizz free, doesn’t even smell like burn or anything like that. Been honest is a little hard to use at first (I guess so many years using a wand just wrapping my hair around) and now using the clamp is not the same for sure. Took me some practice to figure it out to turn on and off, the first time I achieve beautiful curls in just minutes maybe around 10. Now like I said because is a new one for me at that time, and I have no idea I touch it and unlock it and I was touching al the buttons (was funny, now thinking about it) any ways I watch couple of videos so that will not happen again, and I learn to have my hand on the front with my thumb on the tale of the clamp (hope that makes sense). Now, over all is very very high quality for sure, beautiful and does what it say it does, mine is not in the high setting or the lower is in the middle around 4-5 and my curls are so pretty and last about 3 days, I don’t use hairspray, prefer oil. Don’t forget to use a heat protectant. Overall I’m very happy with it. Totally worth it. I’m thinking to save to get the Flat iron also. Mine still working, but you know.

Holy Grail - bleached, toned, coarse Asian hair
I've found THE ONE. This is the hair curler I've always dreamed of. I feel like screaming. I had a feeling this was "it" after the first try on a lock of hair, and after making a second curl, I KNEW. The T3 Curl ID makes the most bouncy, shiny curls ever, that keep their shape so much I feel like a walking Victoria's Secret model...I keep waiting for compliments lol - and I got them!! I had to tell my stylist because honestly, I've never had anyone curl my hair that kept this well. I had another fancy, expensive curling iron (Bio Ionic Long Barrel - whereas I LOVE their straightener and their hair dryer) and it used to take me 45 min to do my whole head, to get curls that would fall flat in a few hours. Aint nobody got time for that! I'm a busy woman - time is money - no wonder I barely curled my hair. With the Curl ID, it's done in 15 min, and it lasts for days (with small 5 min touch ups). I cannot recommend this curler enough. My hair is Level 1 coarse Asian hair that is bleached to levels 9-10, has toner, and is difficult to work with and is scary to apply heat to. This curling iron is freaking magic. Just try it. You can always return it. Except you won't. I'll try to upload pics to this review later if they allow editing. You know those YouTube videos where they show the different curls - 1" vs 1.25" and how much more voluminous 1" can be? Not so with this curling iron!! I was hesitant to get it for this specific reason.

Cheap Product for Luxury Price
Reviews are only good because most of them have received this product for free by the company. I bought this with high expectations but honestly the curler seems cheap for how expensive it is. The rose gold details seem to be some sort of plastic, and it had cracks and scratches at the bottom when it arrived. The actual barrel seems to be made out of a stronger plastic as well, when I would hold it to curl my hair it would make creaking noises like it was going to fall apart. The actual barrel where you put your hair into isn’t designed well either, there is a screw that my hair would constantly get stuck in and ripped out. The curling iron also made my hair feel really dry, even if I used it on the lowest setting it would make my hair feel really dry and damaged, and the curls wouldn’t last. I get better results with my $40 Walmart curling iron, and the curls last all day. I am giving this product 2 stars because the technology is very modern and interesting. I don’t usually review products, but this one disappointed me as the reviews were very good. T3 should focus on making changes instead of sending people free product for good reviews. I will be returning product.

Ruined my hair
I had this iron and used it weekly for about a year. I couldn’t figure out why my hair had become so damaged, but attributed it to coloring my hair. Then one day I replaced this iron with a competitor brand, and I noticed my hair looked healthier. It’s now been a year and my hair is finally back to where it was, after haircuts, masks and treatments. It was never the color; it was this iron!

Suggested Usage:
Turn ON/OFF:
-To turn ON, press and hold the lit power button until the tool vibrates and the lights start to cascade up.
-To turn OFF, first unlock the tool by quickly double tapping the power button, and then press and hold the power button until the iron vibrates and lights start to cascade down.
-Note: The power button remains on while the tool is plugged in, but the tool will not heat up until turned on.

HeatID mode:
-Tap and toggle through each HeatID icon to input and set your HeatID profile: Hair Texture (fine, medium, coarse), Color Treatment (color or not color treated), and Chemical Treatment (chemically or not chemically treated).
-Icons will stop blinking upon the first tap and become brighter to indicate each selection.

How to style:
-Start with dry, detangled hair.
-Twist the top part of your hair out of the way and secure it with a section clip.
-Gather the bottom half of your hair into another clip leaving out a one to two-inch section.
-Gather a two-inch section and clamp the iron halfway between the root and ends.
-Twist the iron away from the face toward the roots.
-Turn the barrel repeatedly until all hair is wrapped around the barrel.
-Ensure barrel remains in a vertical position. Hold the iron for a few seconds or until the heat has fully penetrated the hair section.
-Gradually release the curl in a vertical position.
-Repeat on all sections until hair is fully styled.

Precautions:
-Use the iron with caution and select settings with caution.
-There are individual variations in how hair responds to heat.
-The optimal selection of settings and time to hold hair in the barrel may vary from person to person. In the first use, it is best to test at a low heat and for a short duration.
-If there are any adverse or unexpected effects, stop use of the iron immediately.
