I’ve been wanting to add retinol to my routine without overwhelming my skin, and this set was the perfect place to start. I like that it gradually increases the strength, so my skin had time to adjust without excessive irritation. The formulas feel lightweight, absorb well, and didn’t leave my skin feeling dry. After a few weeks, my skin looked smoother, more even, and my complexion had a healthy glow. If you’re new to retinol and want an easy, beginner-friendly way to introduce it into your skincare routine, I’d definitely recommend this set.

Pleasantly surprised by the results!
In my first experience with retinol products, I encountered mixed reviews, which left me uncertain about my expectations. Initially, I noticed a slight flush and redness on my skin within the first two days of use. After a three-day break, I resumed the product and observed no adverse reactions. Notably, my skin appeared more supple. I continued using Fig 1 Beginner every other day until I completed the product, and I was pleasantly surprised by the results.

Loved as a first time retinol
This is my first experience with a retinol and loved how it applied. Thankfully I didn’t have any common side effects since it’s so gentle and low dose for beginners. The product is very easy to use and had no strong scents that could irritate my skin. Will be continuing to use it

At first you may break out a little bit but the more you use it the clear your skin will get. I love the consistency there's not really a cent much and it's great for any skin types.

First time retinol users - Try this
I’ve been using this at night and love how gentle it is for a retinol. It feels hydrating, not drying, and my skin looks smoother and more even over time. No irritation so far, which is a big win.
Results are gradual, but it’s perfect if you want a low-strength retinol that actually feels like skincare—not a harsh treatment.

Marvelous starter retinol!
If you're on the fence about getting a retinol due to skin concerns or finding it to be too harsh, then this retinol is a great start for anyone. As an individual with sensitive skin which commonly breaks into bouts of redness with new products, I was worried that it wasn't ideal for my type, especially as I rarely use any retinol in my routine. Though I was pleasantly surprised by the way my dark spots began to fade away after a couple weeks. I found that it was a bit thick though and wasn't ideal for daily use in my particular routine, but every couple of days seemed to have done the trick and left my skin less oily and more balanced. All in all, a marvelous starter and uniquely beautiful packaging that left me feeling confident about trying more products from Fig 1.

Good moisturizer
This is so beginner friendly. And it worked for my very sensitive skin without making my skin freak out. I noticed my skin was more hydrated and more plump, but it was a little too thick for me to put on every night. So I would do every other night, but it's a nice moisturizer. And I absolutely love that it is refillable, and the packaging is very sturdy!

Level 1 — Great Intro to Retinol
I recently tried the FIG 1 Nightly Retinol Cream Starter Kit — Level 1, and I’m genuinely impressed for a first-time retinol experience! The texture is smooth and cooling going on at night, and it didn’t sting or irritate my skin even the first couple nights. I noticed my complexion looked more even and a bit smoother within the first week without feeling dry or flaky.
This formula felt gentle enough that I could use it every other night (like recommended) without any redness. I also appreciated that it didn’t have a strong smell, and the packaging makes it easy to keep track of your routine week-by-week. Moisturizer paired nicely with it too, so my skin stayed calm.
If you’re new to retinol and nervous about dryness or irritation, this Level 1 set feels like a confidence-boosting first step. Would definitely recommend for beginners or sensitive skin testers!
